We are the Miller County Pirate Pride Marching and Concert Band. Our musical selections vary greatly, but one trait we possess is consistent: Pride. Without it, we would not be where we are today. Of course, we've had our up years and down years; what organization hasn't? Through it all, however, we've stuck together as a family, and no obstacle has been too much for us to overcome. That is why we are known as the Miller County Pirate PRIDE Band. We also have a heck of a halftime show, so all who are able should come see us on Friday nights! :)
The Pirate Pride Band Organization symbolizes family, unity, musicianship, discipline, respect, and most importantly, Pride.

Holly Thomas - Director of Bands: Holly graduated from Miller County High School in 1991. She went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from Valdosta State University and her Master's Degree from Albany State University. Holly began her teaching journey in 1995 in Miller County and has remained a dedicated member of the pirate community ever since. Throughout her time in the Miller County School System, she has held various teaching positions, but she considers her current role to be her true passion. Holly serves as the director of bands for both the middle and high schools, where she teaches and leads all marching and concert bands from 6th to 12th grade. Holly lives in Colquitt with her husband, Cory, and they have two children, Sydney and Judson.
Krista Womack - Assistant Director: I became a Pirate in 2005 as a Para-Pro for the Miller County High School; I left briefly to finish my B.S. in Education and returned to Pirate Nation in 2016. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Grades ELA and Mathematics at Albany State University. Later, I completed my Master’s Degree in Special Education. I have worked in education for 19 years and 10 of those years have been spent as a PIRATE! I will be teaching 8th grade ELA this year and I am very excited! Since becoming a Pirate, I assist The Miller County Pirate Pride Marching Band as Assistant Band Director. I have been married for 25 years to my best friend and we have four children, two of which have graduated from MCHS. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family and Baton Twirling as co-owner/coach of Persnickety Studios. I never chose teaching as a career, but teaching chose me as a calling!
